The Snack Prodigy Lounge™ is a family-forward space designed for parents and caregivers navigating the realities of travel with children.
This study examined travel pain points, amenity preferences, pricing behavior, and overall user sentiment to identify gaps in current airport environments and inform a scalable, vending-based lounge model.
Based on parent survey data and behavioral analysis.
n = 30 participants, 21 responses.
91% of parents identified a need for space to rest and recharge, suggesting this is a baseline expectation within family travel.
80% reported moderate to high stress during layovers.
These conditions are driven by three consistent friction points:
limited space for decompression
lack of engaging entertainment
difficulty managing strollers and luggage
These findings position rest and regulation not as amenities, but as core infrastructure within family travel environments.

Environments that reduce friction, occupy children, and allow parents to momentarily disengage.
Several parents indicated they could spend an entire layover within a lounge like this, with some humorously noting their wallet might not survive it, highlighting strong dwell time and revenue potential.
Primary cohorts included toddlers (3–5) and children (6–10), with a smaller subset of early adolescents (11–14)
Parents of younger cohorts favored structured, contained engagement.
Ages 11–14 demonstrated increased preference for autonomy and experience-driven zones

Pricing preference converged around a hybrid access model
low entry cost
pay as you go vending
This model reduces entry hesitation
increases perceived control
supports incremental spending behavior
The findings inform a system, not just a space
Zoning aligned with developmental behavior
Dedicated decompression areas as core infrastructure
Vending as a low friction, scalable retail model
Hybrid pricing to optimize both access and revenue
The Snack Prodigy Lounge™ functions as:
a decompression space
a structured engagement environment
a revenue generating extension of dwell time
The Snack Prodigy Lounge™ introduces a behavior-driven model that aligns passenger experience with flow optimization and monetization strategy, designed to scale across airports, transportation hubs, and public infrastructure
At its core, this concept reframes comfort as utility
Ease is not an upgrade
It is infrastructure
